The Canucks have improved their power play performance with the addition of Quinn Hughes to the blue line. An offensive defense man, the Canucks are 4-0-1 on the power play since his addition. Plus they’ve had stellar performance from first round draft pick Elias Pettersson with 18 its in 12 games.

The Canucks still have a bit of a question mark at goal. Thatcher Demko looks good on paper (1.77 GAA and a .941 save percentage) but how much of those numbers can attributed to stellar net performance, or just playing behind a strong defense and an offense that keeps the puck in the opponents end?

Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks are struggling of late, but make no mistake they are a playoff contender, and considering they may find themselves battling the Canucks for the final wild card slot in the West, they know every divisional match-up counts.

However, Anaheim net minder, John Gibson, can get rattled, and if a sniper like Pettersson finds the back of the net early, the game could become a one sided barn burner. The only thing that might throw a wrench into the Canucks speedy offense is Anaheim’s ice, which is considered the worst in the NHL.
