CAROLINA PANTHERS VS. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS – 10/27/2019 FREE PICK & NFL BETTING PREDICTION
This week eight matchup will see the undefeated 49ers host the Carolina Panthers.
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers are coming off a bye week after playing in London last time out. They beat their NFC South Division rival, Tampa Bay, 37-26. The Panthers are sitting one game behind the Saints in the division despite not having Cam Newton.
They are also a very good road team this season, winning their first three games away from home.
The Panthers did not put up a ton of offense in the game in London, only managing 286 yards. Kyle Allen had a nice game, throwing for 229 yards, but with two touchdowns. Most importantly, he did not turn the ball over.
Christian McCaffrey was held in check, rushing for just 31 yards. The Panthers tend to be a run first offense, so this is a little worrying that he struggled against the Bucs defense.
The defense for the Panthers allowed 407 yards in this game, but forcing 7 turnovers made up for that. Carolina is very solid against the pass, allowing 225 yards per game through the air. Again, they did allow Winston to throw for 400 yards, but they picked him off 5 times.
One area they have struggled is against the run. Not necessarily against the Buccaneers, but on the season they have allowed 119 rushing yards per game. This ranks 23rd in the NFL.
When going up against this Niners team, stopping the run will be a must. Jimmy-G is likely not going to beat you through the air, so the Panthers will need to focus on stopping the run.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers shut out the Washington Redskins in a game that involved terrible weather conditions. They won the game 9-0 to remain undefeated.
Obviously, their offense had a ton of trouble in this game. This was most likely because of the rain, but also, the 49ers have shown at times this season they can be inept when they have the football.
They still have managed to average 387.2 total yards per game. This is 7th best in the NFL. The rushing attack is where they excel however, averaging 172.7 yards on the ground per game. This is ranked as 2nd best in the NFL.
The defense for this team has looked unreal and is a big reason why they have yet to lose a game. They allow 223.5 yards per game, which is by far the best in the NFL. They also allow just 133.5 passing yards per game, 1st in the NFL, and 90 rushing yards per game, 8th in the NFL.
If you want to take it a step further, they allow an average of 10.7 points per game as well, ranking 2nd in the NFL.
In three home games this season, the 49ers have allowed an average of 7.7 points per game. There is no reason to believe that San Francisco will not shut down the run game for Carolina and will pressure Kyle Allen all game long.
If they can force a couple turnover, the 49ers will be well on their way to another win.
NFL Betting Trends:
- The total has gone UNDER in 5 of San Francisco’s last 6 games.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: UNDER 41
Ultimately, I think San Francisco is the better team and being at home will help them move to 7-0.
NFL Free Week 8 Score Prediction: Carolina 17 – San Francisco 20
We know that both teams love to run the ball, so I think we will see a lot of clock eaten up. I look for a very low scoring game and like the under in this spot as my official play.
