CLEVELAND BROWNS VS. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS – 10/27/2019 FREE PICK & NFL BETTING PREDICTION

This week eight matchup will see the struggling Browns taking on the undefeated Patriots.

Cleveland Browns

The Browns had a much needed bye week last week after losing yet again the previous week. They now have lost two in a row and have not yet won in the month of October. This last lost came at home to the Seahawks. This was a game they led by as many as two touchdowns, before collapsing in the second half.

Despite having some flashy offensive play-makers, the Browns offense is not doing enough. They are only averaging 20 points per game, which is 23rd in the NFL. The only area of their offense that has consistently been good is their rushing attack. Nick Chubb has 607 rushing yards and 6 total touchdowns to lead the team.

Baker Mayfield is really struggling this season, which is not really a big surprise. He has 1,496 passing yards, but his completion percentage is only 56.6%. He also has just 5 passing touchdowns an already has 11 interceptions.

The Browns defense is also starting to get gashed week in and week out. They have allowed 30 or more points in their last two games, and come in as the 23rd best scoring defense.

They are allowing 373.3 total yards per game this season, just 23rd in the league. They have a terrible run defense, allowing 154 yards per game, ranking 30th in the league. However, their pass defense has been very solid this season. They are 6th in the NFL, allow an average of 219.3 passing yards per game.

For them to even have a chance against this Patriots, they must get pressure on Tom Brady. Miles Jack already has 9 sacks and they are going to have to put Brady on the turf or at least try and force some mistakes.

New England Patriots

The Patriots are coming off a dominating performance over the Jets. This was a game they won 33-0, and it was basically over by halftime.

Their offense was not exactly dominant, but they did enough to take control of the game early. They had 353 yards of total offense. Brady had a solid game, but he would probably tell you that he needs to be better. He went 31 of 45 for 249 yards. He also had one touchdown an one interception.

The rushing offense only had 74 yards, well below their average, but it was Sony Michel who did most of the scoring. he had just 42 yards on 19 carries, but accounted for three touchdowns.

The defense was the highlight in this game, forcing six turnovers. They held the Jets to 154 total yards. Sam Darnold had one of the worst games of his career, throwing four interceptions to the New England defense.

Knowing that Baker Mayfield is also having interceptions, leads me to believe that the Patriots defense is going to be just as dominant.

The Patriots at home are a different animal and have had so much success covering a double-digit number.
