ARIZONA COYOTES VS CALGARY FLAMES 11/5/2019

The red hot Arizona Coyotes will try to complete an Alberta sweep when they visit the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.

Arizona won Monday at Edmonton 3-2 on Derek Stepan’s goal 2:01 into overtime and is 8-2-0 since starting the season 1-2-1, while its plus-11 goal differential is third-best in the West behind Vancouver (19) and Nashville (17).

The Calgary Flames come into this game having lost their last matchup, and should be playing with a bunch of fire in this competitive Pacific division clash.

Arizona Coyotes

The Arizona Coyotes come into this one currently sitting 10th in the NHL. That was probably not something many people expected to start the year. They have been stout defensively and currently allow the 2nd least amount of goals.

The Coyotes are also great on the road, having won 5 of their 8 road matchups. If they can continue scoring 2 or 3 goals a game this is a team that will shut you out offensively.

Antti Raanta will start for the Flames and give Kuemper a night off. Raanta is 2-1-1 W-L with a 2.95 GAA and a 0.914 SV%

The Flames come into this one as a middling team in the NHL. Their main problem continues to be scoring, as outside of their top 5 players the Flames have been unable to put the puck in the net.

The one statistic that sticks out to me is that the Flames have only lost 2 games at home. They will need the home-ice advantage to get the offense going, as Arizona is a notoriously hard team to score against.

David Rittich (7-4-2, 2.79, .915) is expected to face Arizona for the first time after stopping 43 shots in a 3-0 victory at Columbus on Saturday in his last game.

Injuries to note for the Flames: Milan Lucic will be out for the game due to a suspension he received.
