WASHINGTON CAPITALS VS. EDMONTON OILERS – 10/24/2019 FREE PICK & NHL BETTING PREDICTION

The Washington Capitals have been flying as of late and have won their last 4 games on the trot with the last three games being in convincing fashion.

The Oilers have been very solid this year, but have had it tough in their last last two games falling to both the Jets and the Wild.

The Capitals were mighty impressive in their last game at the Calgary Flames where they ended up picking up the road win by a score of 5-3. Holtby had a pretty solid game in stopping 32 of 35 shots that the Flames shot his way which was good for a .913 save percentage.

Despite having a good game last time out Holtby has struggled on the season allowing 3.6 goals per game and only has a .884% save percentage.

Alex Ovechkin had a goal and an assists in that win over Calgary and he does not seem to be slowing down at all at the age of 34. He has 7 goals and 5 assists in 11 games and should have a decent chance of finding the back of the net in this game against the Oilers which I think will end up being a high scoring affair.

Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers will be looking to bounceback at home in this one as they had absolutely no life in that last game against the Minnesota Wild. This is a much tougher spot, though, as the Washington Capitals have been awesome so far this year and possess one of the NHL’s most dangerous offenses.

Mike Smith likely gets the start here for the Oilers and he has been rock solid this year with a .925 save percentage and a 2.14 goals against average.
