MONTREAL CANADIENS VS. PHOENIX COYOTES – 10/30/2019 FREE PICK & NHL BETTING PREDICTION

Remember when the Arizona Coyotes were perennial bottom dwellers?

Perhaps inspired by the success of the desert neighbours in Las Vegas the team has discovered the joy of winning, or maybe it’s just, as they say, every dog has his day (or Coyote) and that seems to have arrived for the Coyotes.

Phoenix Coyotes

The Coyotes have won four of their last five games, with the only loss coming on a four game road trip to the high flying Islanders, another team that have turned themselves around of late (is that ironic?)

They are winning with a combination of strong defensive play and grit, and the emphasis is on grit. There’s really no better way to describe the Coyotes play this season, finding ways to win, even when down two goals as they did against the New Jersey Devils and the Buffalo Sabres earlier this month.

However, blue liners are stretchy thin on the Coyotes roster with Niklas Hjalmarsson and Jordan Oesterle out due to injuries.

Montreal Canadiens

Former Coyote forward Max Domi will be returning to Gila River Arena Wednesday, and while he failed to find the back of the net in the Canadiens win against arch rivals Toronto he was on a seven game points streak until that game.

Domi will likely be looking to get back to form against his former teammates, and continue to prove himself a top line centre.

Backstopping the Habs is Carey Price, whose had a shaky start to the season, but was solid against Toronto, stopping 29/31 shots.

Free Phoenix Coyotes vs. Montreal Canadiens NHL Prediction:

Not the easiest NHL prediction to make this week. Cross country travel does not usually favor the visiting team, especially eastern teams that are more accustomed to easy travel schedules.
