The Series Could End Tonight

Houston won three in a row at Washington to set up this great chance to win another title at home.

Washington has to be reeling but if their pitching is on a game seven could be in the offing.

This series has seen the road team win every game. Washington is hoping that streak continues so they can see another game.

After scoring 17 runs in the first two games at Houston the offense dried up, scoring just one run in each of the three losses in D.C.

Getting the offense going again is the priority but it won’t be easy against Justin Verlander. They did have some success against him in game two though.

Stephen Strasburg won in game two with a very strong performance. If he can repeat that it will give the offense a chance to get their groove back.

The momentum has shifted and the Nats have had a day to find themselves. Will they?

Houston Astros

When you are down 2-0 and your best pitchers haven’t looked great it is easy to be down on a team but let’s not forget how good these Astros are. They were heavy favourites coming into the series.

Gerrit Cole was brilliant again in game five to stake them the lead and now it is up to Justin Verlander to seal the deal. He has to be better than he was in game two.

In the three wins Houston got offensive contributions from throughout the lineup, it is one of the things that makes them so dangerous. In the G5 win, we saw homers from 6th and 7th spots (Yordan Alvarez and Carlos Correa).

The top three have been getting it done all postseason though – George Springer, Jose Altuve, and Michael Brantley are all over .300 in the World Series.

It may all come down to Verlander here. In reviewing the playoff stats for Houston not a single reliever has taken a loss yet. Not much of a surprise.

This looks like the final day of the baseball season for me.

Free Washington Nationals vs. Houston Astros MLB Prediction: Houston wins Game 6.

I am looking for Justin Verlander to be really sharp in this one. Stephen Strasburg too. This is going to be a crisp game where we will wonder which team will blink first.

I think that will be the Nats who rightfully so will feel more desperate than Houston. Look for them to pull Strasburg after 6, as much out of habit as anything else.
