If you like star power this game will have plenty of it with MVPs on both sides. It is also full of teams trying to get to the Finals but who have come up short.

The Bucks are all about the brilliance of Giannis. They have shuffled the pieces around him a little and hope that gets them to the next level.

Houston made the massive move bringing in Russell Westbrook and now that the games count we will see the true impact of that transaction.

Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee had the most wins in the NBA last season and most predict that will happen again. They advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals, losing to Toronto.

Giannis won his first MVP and even though his numbers were amazing there could still be some growth to his game. He can be a better shooter and not force the action as much.

To give him space to operate the Bucks like to spread the floor as much as possible. They take a lot of perimeter shots and make enough for the strategy to work.

Milwaukee lost Malcolm Brogdon to free agency and is looking to replace him with Wesley Matthews. Matthews has been a capable scorer in the past but last year he did not look good.

The Bucks have also reunited the Lopez brothers. One is now a mad bomber but the other gives them more of a physical presence on both ends of the floor.

Milwaukee has mostly held their roster in place and that might be enough to advance them this season.

Giannis should be able to get his against Houston but the Bucks perimeter players are going to have their hands full with the Rockets.

Houston Rockets

This begins the grand experiment of uniting the current iterations of James Harden and Russell Westbrook. I think it can work just fine.

When it does the Rockets might have the best transition scorer and the best half court scorer in the league. I think it is pretty obvious which is which.

They might have mortgaged some of their future but for right now they are still in the mix. Clint Capela gives them some presence upfront and shooter like Eric Gordon and Gerald Green make sure that you can’t apply too much attention to the stars.

There are going to be some nights where it looks off but they are most likely to play nice at the beginning of the season and they can have a common enemy in Giannis for this one.
