The Chicago Bulls hit the road to take on the Memphis Grizzlies for a Friday night contest. Both teams are coming off disappointing season openers. Memphis comes into the contest as a one point favorite with the total set at 223.

Can rookie Ja Morant lead the Grizzlies to their first win of the year or will Zach LaVine bounce back after a subpar game on Wednesday to lead Chicago on the road?

Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls are supposed to be much more competitive than last season with a healthy Lauri Markkanen alongside Zach LaVine and rookie Coby White.

Chicago is coming off a 126-125 loss to kick off their season against the Hornets. It was arguably the most exciting game of the day. The game ended the wrong way for the Bulls who failed to foul a Hornets player when they were taking out up a point with four seconds.

Markkanen led the Bulls with 35 points and 17 rebounds. LaVine had a quieter game than expected as he had 16 points on 7-of-17 shooting. LaVine did have seven assists and six rebounds.

Rookie Coby White (17 points) and Thaddeus Young (17 points) provided a spark off the bench.

Memphis Grizzlies

On Wednesday the Grizzlies lost 120-101 to the Miami Heat. Miami used a 24-1 run in the fourth quarter to put Memphis who was leading away in the contest. It was a golden opportunity for the Grizzlies to win as Jimmy Butler (personal) missed the game.

Jaren Jackson Jr. led the Grizzlies with 17 points but he went 0-6 from three-point range. Morant had 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting in 25 minutes.

Memphis shot only 43% from the field while the Heat shot 47. Tyus Jones had 15 points and seven assists off the bench in the loss.

Memphis had trouble defending Justise Winslow who had 27 points and seven assists.
