LOS ANGELES KINGS VS. WINNIPEG JETS – 10/22/2019 FREE PICK & NHL BETTING PREDICTIONS

Winnipeg is a huge favorite coming into Tuesday night’s game with the Kings. The Jets are at home for the 5th straight game but are anything but a sure thing in this one with their defense.

LA can offer a nice +143 payout with a win, but they’ve been struggling even while playing the last 5 games at home. The Kings’ offense might be the worst in the league.

Los Angeles Kings

Bettors seem to like the ‘over’ in this one as the total has risen from a 5.5 open to 6.5. That’s something considering the Kings offense has been held to 2 goals or less in 4 of the last 6 and has been shut out in 2 of the last 3 games.

LA is also on the road for the first time since October 9th. They went 2-3 during their recent home stand but with wins over Nashville at +145 and Calgary at +125.

Los Angeles may be on the road for the first time in awhile on Monday, but they also haven’t played since the win over Calgary on Saturday night. LA has gone 1-2 in their 3 road games from earlier in the year.

If betting on the total in this one, the ‘over’ seems to be the way to go. Even though the Kings don’t score much lately, they’ve been an absolute sieve on defense.

Jonathan Quick is likely in net on Tuesday, he of the .828 save percentage that is the absolute worst in the league, 62nd out of 62 total goaltenders in the NHL.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets’ offensive eyes have to be getting a little big with the opportunity to go up against a struggling Kings defense. Winnipeg has played their last 4 games at home, but have struggled immensely going 0-3-1.

Winnipeg has been favored the last 4 games and have also struggled while scoring 2 goals or less in every game over that span. Winnipeg is in the top half of the league in every major offensive category however.

The Jets are just 5 points back from Colorado in the Central thanks to Winnipeg’s quick start to the year. The Jets won 4 of their first 5 games this year but need to regain some of that early season magic starting Tuesday.

Besides the Kings poor goaltending situation, another reason to like the ‘over’ in this game is because Winnipeg is also 31st in the league in penalty kills and 25th vs. both goals against and shots against.

Connor Hellebuyck is the probable starter for Winnipeg as they play on 1 days rest. The Jets goaltender has allowed 2 goals or less in 4 of his last 5 starts and the Kings offense should present little resistance.
